Awkwafina
American musician and actor Awkwafina made her debut with humorous songs that dealt with the issue of sexuality and race with comical wit before expanding her repertoire to Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants, was her very first music experience. She performed on the trumpet. Then, she started studying classical music and hip hop. At college, she was studying Women's Studies and Journalism. Then, she even had an hour studying Mandarin while in Beijing. When she graduated, she started to pursue music as her main focus. After making headlines on the Internet the song My Vag was a reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually appeared on the album she released, Yellow Ranger. The album also included viral hits such as the body positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown in NYC Bitche$. This track was also used in the Awkwafina's NYC tour guide that was released in 2015. As a musician and an author in her portfolio, she decided to determined to pursue the role of a third-party actor. As well as early shows like Girl Code and Tawk she was also featured in movies such as Neighbors 2. Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018, she was able to land breakthrough roles in a handful of prominent films such as Dude ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP came out in June.
